Putting out fires...

Today was full of trying our darndest to get things accomplished. Dave needed new work pants since he has completely worn out his old ones. These have a 2 year warranty on them! Secretly, I doubt they last the severity of being worn by Dave!Dave's been mowing the grass, weed-eating, and installing a new cat flap door. I've been doing LAUNDRY LAUNDRY LAUNDRY! It never ends! Plus today was the day we packed up all our winter clothing and unpacked the spring clothing instead. We usually don't have to do this until well into April, but it's been so hot here it couldn't wait another day. Global Warming people! ;)

T.G.I.F !

What a busy fun day. Mom and I were able to meet up for a run at the community track, and as you can see by the way we look the workout was a good one! Our 5K race is less than two months away.Runners need their carbs so....
We were good though and had fat free yogurt and sorbet.

Dave came home and wanted to go out and about so we grabbed dinner at the food court and went to build Mom's Easter "bear." Doesn't Dave just look thrilled to be at the mall carrying a Build-a-Bear box?

Extreme Makeover - Bathroom Edition

When we first moved into our house this is pretty much what the master bathroom looked like except it had a matching pink bathtub where that gaping nasty hole is. I like the gaping nasty hole better personally. Dave found a date on that pink toilet...1966! That's kinda weird considering our home was built in the mid-70's meaning that someone put a ten year-old toilet in a new house. Ewww.
Dave gutted everything and viola! A bathroom from this decade is born complete with a tiled shower and floor. I'm proud of my handyman!

The Zen of Gardening

So I cheated on the mint a little. Mom bought me a plant to put in with the sprouts since they weren't doing as well as the other herbs.

I love watching plants sprout from seed! It's just so amazing to me. I'm like a little kid peeking at them every day to see their progress.

Weekend at Lexi's

View from the Sculpture garden...I think.

Move over Carrie Underwood. You're looking at the next American Idol!

What a great little hostess Lexi is! There were fresh flowers and chocolates in my room.

Lexi and I spent Saturday afternoon touring Chattanooga's walking bridge area, and Saturday night bringing down the house with PS2 American Idol Karaoke. She kicked my butt! Church Sunday was a blessing, and I'm now officially spoiled with all of Lexi's Fresh Market cooking. Thanks for the great time!

So I got a little carried away...

The idea just popped into my head and before I could stop myself, Chewie was dressed in Bindi's pajama top. I couldn't believe she didn't put up a fuss!

Amy, a Build-A-Bear staffer, assures me that adults come in here all the time to stuff bears. I'm not sure if I believe her though! Here's the Koala bear skin I have picked out just waiting to be stuffed.
Make a wish and kiss the heart before it is sewn into the bear! Wanna know what I wished for? A Disney graduation celebration trip in December.

Choosing a name and creating a birth certificate
Meet Bindi Sue (named after Steve Irwin's daughter). She already has an ungodly amount of outfits and accessories.
Yes, it's juvenile...yes, I was the oldest person stuffing a bear. Will I be back? Heck yes! Bindi has to have the latest and greatest bear fashions.

Weekend in Ft. Payne

Bear Creek Cabins - The LodgeOutside View of The Lodge

Freezing our butts off in dedication to catching something!

The only catch of the day

We had a little visitor who was hoping we would catch something just as much as we were!
We were in desperate need for a weekend away. Especially Dave who hasn't been included on the past couple Disney trips. Call us vacation junkies (we've been accused of it before), but we'll continue our love of travel! Mom and Dad were able to join us on Saturday which added to the fun.

Bradford Pears

Bradford pear trees are gorgeous during every season, but spring has to be my favorite. We are blessed to have two of them in our yard.

Italy Day

Csilla trying to get the water warm enough to tolerate

Jamie being ordained
What a blessing! Jamie was able to lead Csilla, Joshua, and Meaghan to the Lord as well as baptize them.

There is a special corner of heaven for people baptized in cattle troughs. I now have a cousin who will share that corner of heaven with me!
Jamie and Csilla, we are so sad to see you leave but at the same time we are overjoyed that you are fulfilling God's call. We can't wait to hear how God will be working through you in the lives of the Italian people.
