July 4th Weekend

Jared and Jess came up to spend the long weekend with us and we had a blast as usual. What better way to kick off the weekend than with late night baby gifts? Thank you Bonita and Elmer for sending the diapers and wipes. You can never have too many of either!

Trudy got lots of various goodies from Aunt Jess including her first manicure set (complete with little nail files. seriously cute) and a Chanel logo Swarovski crystal binky. Starting this girl off right!
Since we staying up until nearly 4:00 am, we slept late and the boys opted for twilight golf while Jess and I went to see Eclipse. There was just twilight all around it seems! :) We stopped for a few fireworks on the way home.
Know what's a great idea? Starting a cake at 9:00 at night. Super smart. Around 12:30am here's what we wound up with. Really cute considering how tired we were. Thanks for doing all the buttercream, Jess.
Happy Independence Day! Time to show our creation to the world...or at least a few church members. Services were great with both Jared and Dad preaching and the Pilkingtons and Busseys singing. The Pulaskis brought meat for the grill and a grand time was had by all.

Afterward, we headed to Mom and Dad's house so Dad could show Jared his new toy. A propane-powered weed burner that sounds like a jet engine.

I'm afraid fireworks will never hold the same appeal.
Wow...look at all those hard-core pyrotechnics. ;p
Woo-hoo!
ur neighbors probably spent $700 on their display so we just chilled out for the rest of the night and watched them for free.

Thanks for coming up to visit, guys! We had a great time as always.
