3rd Generation Buddies

My dad and Jared's dad were BFFs for most of their lives. Jared and I have been friends as children and as adults. I hope Gus and Jack strike up a friendship for the third generation. Looks like they are off to a great start!

Saturday morning started off with a trip to Dunkin' Donuts with Dave's parents and the Pilkingtons. Afterward, Mom and I made our annual trip to Joann's. We got some good deals on a few things without getting too stressed by the crowds. This is the only time in Gus' life that he'll like to visit Joann Fabrics. There was so much for him to look at that he didn't make a fuss the whole time we were there.

Mom and Dad were nice enough to keep Trudy that evening so we could enjoy dinner with Jared and Jess. We wound up ordering in since that's just easier when you have two nursing infants!

Yet another picture ruined by Jared's taste in art. LOL

Meet Jack

Newborns are hard to photograph! Hopefully little Jack grows up to be as photogenic as his mama. I enjoyed taking their photos in Linda's neighbor's back yard. Mary sure has an eye for design and has created an oasis that she was generous enough to share.

Thanksgiving 2012

We opted to leave for Pensacola at 5:00 am on Thanksgiving morning. The kids slept for 4 of the 5 hours we were on the road which made for a happy mom and dad in spite of the lack of sleep.

Trudy was happy to see Amelia again and liked her brothers a lot better than I expected considering she didn't remember any of them from her first Thanksgiving.

What's not to like when they are full of fun?

Arthur was happy to provide piggyback rides and horsey rides

And Gus didn't lack for a shoulder to sleep on all day.

Who knew gathering acorns could be so much fun?

Nathan wants a baby brother or sister. I tried explaining to him that he IS the baby, but that didn't go over too well with a big 4 year old. ;)

Of course Aunt Julie got plenty of baby time in over the weekend too.

We enjoyed a crazy-amazing Thanksgiving dinner complete with the best cheesecake I have ever put in my mouth. True story. Maybe I can wrangle the recipe out of Mom.
We're so thankful for our family and for safe travels this holiday!

A Visit with Martin and Margaret

The kids and I spent the afternoon at the Cedillos' so we could visit with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Martin before heading south tomorrow. They were duly impressed with our latest addition.
Trudy and Aunt "Kay-kay"
The Gullions were nice enough to let us spend some time at their place during the afternoon.
Bella and Trudy are quite the buddies!
Apparently Margaret and Martin bite so Trudy played it safe and stayed on Bella's lap.

The family dog whisperer wasted no time getting to know Scooby

Time for a scenic wagon ride

These turkeys better lay low this week!

Thanks for the ride, Molly and Polly.
And thanks to our handsome driver
