Disney Therapy Day 3

We got a later start than planned due to exhaustion. We’re getting old! One great thing about showing up at Animal Kingdom around 10:00 am and not planning to ride any rides is the opportunity to see active animals. It was so neat to see the Tigers do something besides sleep! We even saw one squat down to take a pee. :)

Isn’t the meerkat adorable! This is the first time I’ve seen one at the Animal Kingdom. They are usually in their little holes and out of sight. Hi Timon!

These were taken just for Dave who LOVES monkeys, especially gorillas. It’s amazing how human-like they are. I want a pet one! LOL

*yawn* Stupid tourists act like they've never seen a primate before!

Who ever thought a bat could be cute?? I assure you these vampire bats were adorable as they fly around, yawned, and noshed on their fruit treats. Usually they are just curled up in a Dracula pose and don’t move a muscle.

At 11:00 we showed up at Yak and Yeti for lunch. They are not taking reservations yet since they aren’t “officially” open so we were blessed to get a table.

The lettuce wraps were delish! I especially enjoyed the sauce that came with them.

Mom got a blue coconut drink that was good, but waaay too sweet for my taste.

Mmmhhh. Dim sum!

And for dessert..Fried cheesecake and fruit on skewers with a coconut sauce. Yum!As a special treat, we got to see "Devine" herself! I've never seen her out and about in the park and she is truly amazing to behold. I don't think I would have even noticed her had it not been for the crowd of people!

Disney Therapy Day 2

This morning it was off to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey waffles on Main Street. Mom sees the magic in everything, including the festive disposable cups! We rode all the rides we could handle including a soaking experience on Splash Mountain. Lunch was spent at the Plaza on Main Street, a first for us.

Back to the resort for our traditional afternoon nap! Our ducks were waiting for us while watching Disney cartoons, remote in hand. Thanks Mousekeeping!


After naptime, we were off again but I forgot my camera this time! We went to Animal Kingdom to ride Everest in the dark. It’s 10 times better at night! We got to ride twice. Then we went back to the Magic Kingdom to watch Spectromagic. It was the most crowded I'd ever seen the Magic Kingdom! A cast member told us there were over 50,000 people there. Good thing we didn't want to ride anything!

Disney Therapy - Day 1

Though this trip wasn’t planned as a sympathy trip, it worked out to be great timing! It doesn’t matter how many times we visit “the motherland,” we’re always glad we came and never ready to leave. You can see some pics of some additional Disney trips here and here.

We were a little nervous staying at All Star Sports Resort since the Pop Warner cheerleading/football events were in town and all of the elementary and middle schoolers were staying at All Star Sports! Fortunately, they placed us on the backside of the resort where it was nice and quiet. Our room wasn’t yet ready, so we headed off to EPCOT for our Garden Grill dinner.

This beats waiting in line to see the little guys! The food was fabulous and the flank steak was my favorite. Mom like the homemade ranch dressing which had fresh dill in it.

Kidcot Funstops were something we’d definitely never experienced so since we had time to kill before the Candlelight Processional, we figured, why not?

The candlelight processional was as awe-inspiring as always. Some chick from High School Musical (not the one with the nude internet pic haha) was the celebrity narrator. Last year we heard Steven Curtis Chapman.

We didn’t have high hopes for a value resort but were actually pleasantly surprised! The room was very clean and had recently undergone refurbishment.

Not exactly a towel animal, but cute nonetheless.

*yawn* After an exhausting first day, Donald and I are ready for bed!

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away...

I started miscarrying early this morning. This is all I have left to prove my child ever existed! Please keep us in your prayers.

Our first baby gift

The excitement is contagious! Katy and Gilbert brought me an early baby gift to demonstrate their love and anticipation for the little one.

Flowers for mom to be

Dave is a sweetheart, although flowers are a small price to pay for carrying his child into the world. Yes, I’m going to milk this for the rest of my life. "I'm pregnant. That means I'm helpless. Do everything for me and buy me flowers." Hahaha. Poor Dave. It's going to be a long 9 months for him.
