Dave went with me to the Athens Foundation Scholarship Luncheon where I finally got to meet my scholarship donor who has helped me with three semesters at ASU.

True love
We ate at Red Lobster after street preaching. Dave found a heart shaped popcorn shrimp and gave it to me. :) It's the little things!

The Trip From Hell
You think I exaggerate, but no…this trip was not from Sheol nor Purgatory but straight from the pits of a devil’s Hell. He conjured it up in order to break and discourage us. I won’t elaborate on all the sordid details since I don’t want that pesky eye tic to crop back up, but I’ll hit some of the highlights at least.
The job was to set up this booth at Warner Robins Airforce base about 6 hours from home. Everything that could possibly go wrong DID. Enough said

Of the many things that went wrong, this is where we were sent to repair our broken-down truck passing a reputable-looking dealer on the way (Andrew was doing the very best he could from so far away...this is no slam to him. Just HAD to post these pics).
Here we have the "office." Note the Visa/Mastercard symbol above the gas can.

More of "the office"

The kiddos tree house next to the office! You can't see it in the picture, but there's a big plastic bulldog mounted on the hood just to give it a touch of class. My shot of the owner's home didn't turn out because of the rain, but that's ok considering the "Merry Christmas" lights on the roof weren't lit up anyway.
It's a good thing the air museum was free since we only got to look at 1/4 of it before being summoned for yet another crisis.

A handful of purpose from the Lord! A great local seafood restaurant where we dined several times had Georgia Lotta Keno going 24/7. Dave and I decided to try our hand at a game and won $5! I'm laughing hysterically in this picture (you know that mad laugh you get when you're about to loose your sanity?) because the owners and lotto lady thought we were so cute getting so excited about one Keno play and $5. And for you pendanic, doctrinaire Baptists out there, this WAS a handful of purpose from the Lord. I would have purchased the ticket if He were standing next to the cashier. Bite me.

Happy Birthday Mac!
And yeah for another excuse to make a cake!

Visit with the Squidoos!
Going from zero to four kids in our home was interesting! Dave and I handled it fine, but Casey, Krissy, and Chewie were stressed. It was really funny to see our hyperactive dog meet his matches and run for cover!

My Fetching Cat
Forgive her hair please! She has a homemade summer “Mommy cut” with only her big fluffy tail to show for her former glory.
Chewie has always played fetch with hair elastics (even though nobody believes me). While Dave and I were walking the dog this evening, I found this little soccer ball foam hand exerciser ball on the ground and snagged it thinking it would be good to strengthen my left hand since I’m learning guitar. I tucked the ball into the computer cabinet and settled down for some web time and forgot about it. Chewie kept getting in my lap and trying to get at the ball. Finally I threw it for her and this is what happened! She’s continuing to retrieve as I type this and I’m about to take it away from her because Mommy is tired of playing! The funny thing is that our Boxer doesn’t fetch AT ALL. This is really bugging Dave.

The Busiest Saturday Ever!
Let me start out by saying what a refreshing blessing it was to fellowship with someone my age with no kids who dotes on their pet. Most of the time I feel like I'm either 40 or 16 depending on the day so I can't tell you how fun it was to kick back and be 25!
Our first stop of the day was the art museum. Cultured? No, Lexi just needed an excuse to take snarky pictures..
Case in point. What is the artist trying to say? I believe it is a feminist piece that relies on the subtleties of symbolism to depict the paternalistic attitudes directed at women in the last century. For some reason, it gives Lexi a sense of urgency.

A true masterpiece!
We got the chance to be artists ourselves!

This work is representative of Lexi's dream of stabbing a cop in the head with a pencil! It was in self-defense though.
Lexi drew an Impressionistic work that demonstrated her talents.
Hey! An actual piece of art at the art museum!

All that exposure to culture made us hungry!
Chopsticks...
They're for losers. Real women use their fingers.

Let's do some shopping. Even the squirrel is bearing the brunt of Lexi's violent dreams.
Found my high school alarm clock at an antique shop. Hmmm...
And we're off to Rembrandt's for more treats! It was a beautiful day out today though.
