The Grocery Store

Look at all the cheese, Dave! I'll break all manner of customs regs to bring you some back (not).

Hot dogs too, Honey! Here they are called wurstel. Check out the prices!

Produce 'n stuff. I wanted more pictures but figured I'd embarassed myself enough already at this point. Dad, they have lots of Kinder Eggs!

With the fruits from our walk to the grocer, Csilla made a special Italian lunch. Insalata caprese panini! (tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and prosciutto crudo on ciabatta bread drizzled with sea salt basil and extra virgin olive oil). Grazie, Csilla! Brava!

At Home with the Homans

Buzzer
The Homan's Audi uses natural gas since it is more cost effective than petrol.
The neighbor's house.
One of Jamie's "toys": a tract folder

Pretty chili peppers??

They are hand-painted by Csilla herself! Gorgeous!

Beautiful kitchen. I'm in love with it (and the food that comes out of it. More on that later).

Italian bathrooms part deux!

A bidet! Does it get any classier? Csilla thinks so. Like the removal of that waterlogged board for starters. From trailer trash to Eurotrash. Nothing says "Ciao, ya'll" better.

Another push-button flusher. Waaaay funner than a handle.
Pretty to look at, but not fun to climb!

Caleb modeling his new designer Crocs.

Breakfast: Coffee flavored yogurt...

Bakery fresh bread with mascarpone and preserves, or nutella

First installment of the Italian Bathroom series

Brooke took lots of pictures of European bathrooms on her tour and inspired me to do the same. It's the little things in life...
Note the shelf behind the toilet in lieu of a hook on the back of the door. Prevents purse snatching.

No tank! Well, it's in the wall. Check out the flusher buttons!

All Roads Lead to traffic jams

It was raining on our way home from the airport, but rain or shine it's impossible to capture the crazy driving on film. I'll just attempt to describe.

That reflective stripe is a tractor-trailor that is THAT close. And everyone is ok with this...
Everyday, normal bottleneck. We also saw someone riding the shoulder as if that's what it was made for whilst a motorbike weaved in out of traffic.

That's kilometers per hour thankfully.

Mom has chickens??!!

Guess the obsession is infectious. Mom went from eye-rolling to having a brood of her own!
Here are the Dixie Chicks; Buffy, Beth, and Bindi in their travel container. Home for now is the guest bathroom tub which is kept at 95 degrees with a heat lamp.

Bindi needed a talking to for being sassy. :)

Dave doesn't "do" chickens, but since these are Mom's special ones....

Let it Snow!

Not quite enough to snow us in (it doesn't take much in Alabama!) but we still enjoyed it a little before church.

Our snowman, Leonard

The snow at church wasn't as crunchy.
Chewie even ventured out.
