Weekend in Sandestin
Once in a while SCS will throw us a bone when in comes to travel and we wind up with a great trip all expenses paid and then some! You know they are hard up for labor when they pay me to take a trip with Dave! The show we set up went off without a hitch. On setup day we were finished in 2.5 hours and it took us the same amount of time to tear it down. Not bad for just the two of us! Thankfully, we got to stay at the Grand Sandestin which is where the show was being held so that allowed us lots of free time to enjoy the beach and the adjoining Village.

4th of July
We spent the afternoon and evening of Independence Day with our church family. I kind of don't fit into any of the demographics at BBBC so I generally stick with the kids and teens until they wear me completely out---then I float on over to the older adults. :) Our water war was fun, refreshing, mean, and sneaky! We eventually wound up just tossing buckets of water on each other until we were forced to go inside and put our clothes in the dryer!

Aran had to be punished for his war crime of sneaking upstairs, opening the window, and pouring bottles of water on unsuspecting victims who were trying to prepare for the battle by filling balloons.

Bella's little hands were all pruney from her hard work at the spigot

Brandon made his very own pecan pie FROM SCRATCH BY HIMSELF even shelling the pecans! It was delicious.

At 7:00 it was time for popcorn preaching. Isaac brought us a great message about faith, and all his points lined up to form an anagram that spelled "faith." Way to step it up a notch!

Aran delivered a mini-message about the importance of being a wise person and backed his points up with LOTS of scripture. Great job little man!

Soul's Harbor Baptist
Church Sunday was such a blessing! Jared and Jess' church has a bit of a different flavor than ours and it was nice to break out of our rut for a week. ;) I enjoying seeing Sandra again, looking at are her scrapbook goodies, and meeting her grandchildren. She did however win the much-coveted Micron pen for Sunday school sword drill. I was so close!!

Jared and Jess' reception
This weekend we made the journey to Childersburg/Sylacaugua for Jared and Jess' marriage celebration. I can't tell you how fun it was to be able to hang out with a married couple in our age group who are Bible believers with no kids! I think they must be the only two on the planet besides us! LOL
Jess, your mom did such a great job on the decor. Everything was lovely, elegant, and just plain perfect!

Having never seen Steel Magnolias, I didn't really get the whole armadillo cake thing, but I can definitely appreciate the artistry behind it. That was no easy cake to create!

I was so proud of myself for getting some cool, artsy shots and didn't even realize that my tacky date stamp was turned on!! Sorry guys!!
Jess' little cousin caught one which means especially good luck. I think the poor thing was dead after just a few minutes of being her "pet." :)

Brooke's wedding
It was fantabulous! Unfortunately, I have somehow deleted my personal pictures and have only what Dad took at the reception and some of the photographers previews. Brooke looked like a princess and the details couldn't have been better planned and pulled off by Martha Stewart herself!

Mopar Car Show
Jared and Jess came up to visit us for the weekend and we all took Dad to a Mopar car show at the dragway for an early Father's Day treat. Jess and I didn't really get past looking at the pretty colors and working on our tans, but hey. If the guys were having fun then so were we. I have to admit the fun-run drag racing was really neat to watch. I'll just have to remember to wear earplugs next time!

You can't tell it from the picture since everyone is crowded around the car, but it's a General Lee reproduction. I don't know why the color looks red in this picture!
This is almost just like Dad's 1969 Coronet that was stolen from him in 1978. Same color and everything! The owners had a scrapbook in the trunk documenting the restoration process. Now THAT I can get in to. :)
