Mom has chickens??!!

Guess the obsession is infectious. Mom went from eye-rolling to having a brood of her own!
Here are the Dixie Chicks; Buffy, Beth, and Bindi in their travel container. Home for now is the guest bathroom tub which is kept at 95 degrees with a heat lamp.

Bindi needed a talking to for being sassy. :)

Dave doesn't "do" chickens, but since these are Mom's special ones....

Let it Snow!

Not quite enough to snow us in (it doesn't take much in Alabama!) but we still enjoyed it a little before church.

Our snowman, Leonard

The snow at church wasn't as crunchy.
Chewie even ventured out.

Down on Cedillo farm they have some itty-bitty goats...

How stinkin' cute are they?? This is one of the yet unnamed twins born last week.

Andrea with Miracle.
Awwwww!
Miracle and her mommy. Both are lucky to be alive after a difficult birth that required all of Gilbert's midwifing skills.
Bella with the other twin I think??
What's a farm without pigs? I prefer Guinea's to real ones. :)
Maddy and Izzy with Aran and Bella
Maddy getting a treat.
Gilbert cracking up at Maddy's squeaking.
Tippy, Tippy, Tippy. Dave wants to trade both our kitties for you! I submitted this picture to I Can Has Cheezburger. Now I just need a funny caption. Ideas?

When we weren't being entertained by the menagerie, we managed to put together a puzzle and eat some fried jalepeno rings. Yum! Maybe we should all be exiting quietly instead as it looks like Jake is deciding who he'd like to kill next. Not it!

Rosin up that bow

It wasn't exactly Faded Love, but Dad and I successfully played a D note! Woo-hoo!
After a month of lessons, Andrea has mastered Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star among other selections. Keep up the good work, Andee!

Valetine's "Day"

Since Dave had to work on Valentine's, we celebrated today instead by going shopping and to Ketchup. I've blogged about Ketchup before here, but was able to get better pictures in the daylight.

I never noticed their chandelier before.Dave's hickory burger
The five ketchups: mango, hickory, regular, chipotle, and ranch. We are going to attempt making our own chipotle since it's so yummy. Plain just won't do anymore!
My California wrap.

Cat lovers go awwww. Haters throw up.

What I didn't know hasn't hurt me, but I won't be leaving my water glass on the end table anymore! (And of course she had fresh water in her bowl. She's a cat. Toilet water is preferable to what she's SUPPOSED to drink)

Nobody likes a kiss @ss

Unless you are Chewie apparently.

Jared and Jess' visit

It occurred to me this week that I didn't take a single picture of our visit with Jared and Jess. When I sat down to blog today, I realized that wasn't true. I took a picture at Cantina Laredo....of the food! I've often joked about being a fat girl in a thin girl's body....methinks it's not a joke anymore!

Call me. We'll do lunch.

It was nice to have a little girl time with Angel and Irene. Baby Hannah is so loving and good-natured. If only we could say that for her mom and aunt. Tehe.

Birthday Dinner

Brandon requested a special dinner for his birthday. We don't really have a name for this dinner game, but you can read about the concept here as we played it for Christmas 2007. The twist this time is that Brandon wanted to serve everyone else and eat in the kitchen in peace after watching us all suffer. Birthday boy gets what birthday boy wants!

He made up the menu himself and some of the items wound up being clues of sorts. For example, the "3-pointer" wound up being a fork. Others were completely random which probably added to Brandon's fun as we all sat around trying to plot a strategy that would deliver a utensil along with our mashed potatoes.

Dave scooping up red velvet cake with another food item (can't tell what).

Dave eating baked beans with a piece of cheese (gotta be quick before it melts!)
Katy scooping up mashed potatoes with a cucumber
Aran eating a salad by hand
Can we drag them away from a gory action movie long enough for presents?
